They don't call it the silly season for nothin'
It's that time of year - you're trying to finish up work while buying presents and planning travel and generally feeling alllllll the stresses of the holiday season. People say, "Don't forget to breathe!" like it's a joke, but you're actually overwhelmed. It's the silly season. And while "silly" is a lovely, well, silly word, you feel anything but. You know what? It's okay if you want to just take time off from the rush and expectations. The only person you need to please this year is you. Nope out of other people's dramas, give everyone gift cards and skip the mall parking lot, and prioritize taking time for yourself in the midst of everything. Christmas carols. Nostalgic movies on TV. Cozy sweaters. Nights inside under a cuddly blanket. A good book. A cup of hot cocoa. These things are all you deserve, and more.
